Fortune Cookie Chronicles

Dr. Giddy loves fortune cookies.

What could be better than gaining some ancient wisdom of the orient while eating a 32 calorie dessert?

Here I will document my fortunes.
Go ahead and leave yours in the comments if you’d like.

November 11, 2012: My trusty Zip-Lock baggie has kept these 5 months of fortunes fresh!
Have a vision. Be demanding. (I think my Associates will say “Amen!”)
Fools use tomorrow, the wise use today.
In dreams and in life, nothing is impossible.
Your ability to juggle many tasks will take you far. (I can’t really juggle…)
Don’t be afraid to take a chance when the opportunity of a lifetime appears.
Even the smallest candle burns brighter in the dark. (I don’t think that came from Buddha…  I think it was St. Francis Assisi)
The only sure thing about luck is that it will change. (Of course!  Luck – She’s a lady…)
A surprise treat awaits you. (Woo hoo!)
Need some adventure and enjoyment?  Take a vacation. (I was wondering why my travel agent was handing out fortune cookies.)
Genius does what it must, and talent does what it can. (And I log it on an obscure blog page on the internet)
It’s not the amount of time you devote, but what you devote to the time that counts. (Tell that to the bossman…  He wants BOTH)
Life always gets harder near the summit.
A solid challenge will bring forth your finest abilities.
One who admires you greatly is hidden before your eyes. (Sounds like I need an optometrist…)
Luck happens when hard work meets opportunity. (Sounds like a match made in Heaven)
Mighty forces will come to your aid. (I believe they do every single day…)
You will soon be crossing great waters on a fun vacation. (Buddha was a little late on this one… I actually got this after returning from Europe.)
Men are apt to settle a question rightly when it is discussed freely. (And women will argue about for ages???)
Enthusiasm is contagious. Not having enthusiasm is also contagious. (Yaaaaaawn)
You will soon be traveling to a distant land. (Seriously got this on the same day as the crossing great waters one…  had my hopes up for a return visit.)
Trust others, but still keep your eyes open.
You will bring sunshine into someone’s life. (Awww…  Hopefully yours.)
The secret to vast wishes begins with a single penny. (But sure enough doesn’t stop there!)
Endurance and persistence will be rewarded. (They’re pretty close to the same thing aren’t they?)
Be careful! Bees with honey in their mouths have stings in their tails. (So kiss on the lips, and don’t kiss tails…)
*** Sorry.  That was bad – but I couldn’t resist.
Everything you are against weakens you. (Interesting thought…)
Happier days are definitely ahead of you. (Wow!  Life gets even better!?!?!?)
Integrity is the essence of everything successful.
It can’t rain all the time.  It could be better, but it’s good enough. (What???  Okay.  Good enough, rarely is. Life is good. -period- )
Love is as necessary to human beings as food and shelter.
It’s not what you know but what you USE of what you know that counts. (You know?)
Never throw caution to the wind. (Because it will blow right back in your face…)
Little brooks make great rivers. (I LOVE that one)
Every truly great accomplishment is at first impossible. (Right on.)
No problem leaves you where you found it. (Which is exactly why it’s a problem.)
No profit grows where there is no…..
(It was cut off.  And I’ll be eating lots of cookies until I find the whole thing!  Because Buddha can’t leave me hanging like that – )

June 9, 2012: FCC VII – The Pile Of 1,000 Cookies (Click to read)

May 8, 2012: I know you’ve been anticipating this day for a long time…
(Click to read post)
An unexpected check or fortune will arrive today.
A light heart carries you through all the hard times.
A real friend asks to spend time with you, not money.
Be on the alert for new opportunities.
A kind word warms for three winters.

March 2, 2012:  A cookie a day keeps the Ninjas away…
A calm sea does not make a skilled sailor.
(It takes a whole lot of RUM to do that!)

March 1, 2012:  Crispy Golden Cookie – Contains Wisdom Carved on Pale Paper.
Don’t expect to find one right way to make yourself more creative.
(Nurse Sonshine’s…  Who said she’s looking to be more creative?)
Never quit!
(Priddy Giddy’s – she doesn’t!)
Financial hardship in your life is coming to an end!
(Iddy Biddy Giddy was glad his 10 year old self has this assurance at such an young age!)
Be magnanimous, be trustful, be hopeful and be patient.
(Yes sir…  but magnanimous is too big of a word for a clown – just give it to me in English.)
Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that.

February 18, 2012:  Crispy Golden Cookie – Contains Wisdom Carved on Pale Paper.
A new pair of shoes will do you a world of good! (Nurse Sonshine’s…  she still hasn’t gone shopping)
You will enjoy doing something different this weekend.
Your respect for others will be your ticket to success.
Your respect for others will be your ticket to success.
(I guess we really needed this message, since we got it twice)
Your judgment is a little off at this time.  Rely on friends.
(The 4 year old got that one…  We’re trying to teach her not to give into peer pressure!)
You would be wise not to seek too much from others, at this time.
(This too was the little one’s…  I think Buddha may be bi-polar?
He is definitely sending mixed messages here.)

Listen these next few days to your friends to get answers you seek.
(I’m finding a pattern here…  Anyone have any advice they want to give me?)
You will soon embark on a business venture.

February 4, 2012: We got extra cookies tonight!!!!
After readying the every emotion, there is understanding entering the realm.  (Too deep for me)
A new outlook brightens your image and brings new friends.
A new venture will be a success. (Good – I just started a new venture this week)
A smile increases your face value. (That’s where Chuck Swindol got the  saying from…)
Drastic means are not as necessary as you think.
A good evening is one spent in good company.
A judgment will rule in your favor.
Give yourself some peace and quiet for at least a few hours.
A journey must begin with a single step.
Go for it.  You never know what (will) happen next.
After a big storm comes tranquility.
Each bird likes his own nest best.
Happiness is not a reward, it’s a consequence.
A man without aim is like a clock without hands, as useless if it turns as if it stands.
A real patriot is the fellow that gets a parking ticket and rejoices that the system works.

January 23, 2012: This is not really mine…  Saw it on Facebook.
I can’t help you, I am just a cookie.

January 20, 2012:  It’s been over two weeks – must…  eat…  cookie with paper inside –
Reward yourself with a much deserved gift. (Eat another cookie?)
Your courage will guide your future.
Your hard work is about to pay off.
Listen to friends with an ear to the future. (What’s up with these futuristic fortunes – I want instant gratification.)
You will be happily surprised by a long time friend.

January 03, 2012:  Dr. Giddy suffered a month without ancient eastern wisdom…
You out distance all competitors. (Aw, shucks – thanks…  but stop, really, you’re making my head swell up!)
An unexpected event will soon bring you fortune. (Woo Hoo!)
It is best to consult others before taking unusual actions. (Ummm… this was Sonshine’s)
You are kind and trustworthy by nature.
(That was Iddy Biddy Giddy’s – Buddha doesn’t know my boy…  just kidding)
The riches of others makes you more valuable.
(This was Priddy Giddy’s – I’m hoping this means her daddy will soon be rich)

December 01, 2011:
It’s at the worst of times that you need to summon your optimism.
In great attempts it is glorious even to fail.
Luck helps those who help themselves.
Let your hook be always cast. In the pool where you least expect it, will be fish.
Love is in the air. (Woo Hoo – that’s what I’m talking about!)

November 28, 2011:
I wanted Chinese for dinner, wife wanted KFC – wife wins every time.

November 9, 2011:
To forgive others one more time is to create one more blessing for yourself.
Cookie says, “You crack me up.”

November 6, 2011:
Be ready to alter your plans; you will like the results.

        Thank you.
I have more fortunes sitting in my basket waiting for me to share with the world…

But, there will be a “special edition” FCC first.

Hopefully next week… I’m going to try to update on a more regular schedule.

Well today I went to panda express ¥ and while I was in my car I ate then at the end I opened the fortune cookie and guess what it said ” your judgement is a little off at this time” and I was like I don’t make bad choices so if you get something related to this think about it
